A radio road trip across America features some of the nuttiest callers ever to phone the show.

Each week millions of radio listeners tune in to National Public Radio's Car Talk. A high point of every show is the call-in segment, when listeners phone in for advice and regale hosts Click and Clack with tales of their own automotive misadventures.

Like Dave from Bemidji, Minnesota, who drives his Chevy Cavalier home from Alaska when it already has 350,000 miles on the odometer. And Dinesh, who strolls across Death Valley. Rather than worry about buzzards, he's concerned about how his car will hold up in the heat.

Christy wants to know if she fried her dad's Citation. Adrienne frets that a load of rocks might crush her Saab. Single guy John wonders if he should tidy up his car for a first date or reveal its trashy self. And when Ann's husband travels from Georgia to Florida to get his vasectomy reversed, Ann drives like a banshee to bring him back home. Ever since, their Caravan makes strange grinding noises.

It seems that lunatics aren't confined to Car Talk Plaza. They're everywhere, and they're dialing the phone. Four hilarious radio shows celebrate the land of the free, home of the wacko.

My husband and I use this to lift the stress and get a much needed laugh. If the stories don't get to you, these two guys laughing will make you want to laugh along. If you have someone that you know could use a laugh - get this for them. This is highly recommended!

10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Always a great laugh By Charlotte A. Meiter We have heard all the "Click and Clack" brothers CD's. This has to be one of the funniest.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. More delicious fun from the Car Talk guys! By D. Lowenthal This is a 4-CD collection of hilarious segments from the NPR Car Talk show. The stories are always entertaining as well as laugh-inducing. The calls are varied ... from the guy wondering if he should clean up his very messy car before taking a girl out on a date, to the young lady who feels guilty for destroying her father's car engine 15 years ago (when she was 16 years old), to the gal whose car engine dies everytime she drives to a high altitude, they are all thought-provoking automotive tales. The Click and Clack laugh and joke and inform their way through the CDs. A great, family-friendly collection. I listened to them all, and then shared some of the best stories with my teenaged son, and my husband. We all thoroughly enjoyed the set.
