Excerpt from Wireless TelegraphyIn this book the author has had in his mind's eye the reader who, possessing a general scientific knowledge, is anxious to know something, not only of the accomplishments of wireless, but also of the means by which they are attained. The subject is necessarily a highly technical one, and the first four chapters are devoted solely to explanations of the electrical phenomena involved. Which explanations it may be added are really little more than statements of facts illustrated where possible by mechanical analogy. The fifth and sixth chapters deal with the application of these principles to wireless apparatus, and from the seventh chapter onwards the book is devoted to a general survey of the uses to which wireless is nowadays put.
